Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: Preforms computed tomography (CT) exams by following and verifying referring provider orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies. TYPICAL DUTIES: Identifies patient service requirements Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moves equipment into specified position; adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors. Performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider orders. Applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Maintains production and quality of CT images by following established standards, orders, protocols and procedures Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA), using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors and automatic exposure controls. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies. At an advanced level, may train new employees or lead day to day work activities. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.
