Job Overview: The Strength and Conditioning Facilitator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of high school athletes. This role involves working closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and student-athletes to enhance athletic performance, prevent injuries, and support the overall physical development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and develop strength and conditioning programs that are age-appropriate and tailored to various sports and individual needs. Ensure programs are aligned with best practices and current trends in athletic training.
- Implementation and Supervision: Conduct strength and conditioning sessions, ensuring proper technique and safety. Supervise workouts to provide guidance, correct form, and adjust programs as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff members to integrate strength and conditioning programs with sport-specific training and rehabilitation efforts.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Perform assessments of athletes' strength, flexibility, and overall fitness levels. Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to programs to achieve optimal results.
- Education and Training: Educate athletes on proper exercise techniques, nutrition, and injury prevention. Provide individual and group instruction to enhance understanding and performance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all strength and conditioning activities comply with safety regulations and protocols. Maintain a clean and organized training environment, and ensure all equipment is properly used and maintained.
- Motivation and Support: Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages student-athletes to reach their full potential. Offer support and encouragement to help athletes achieve their goals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of athletes' progress, program adjustments, and any incidents or injuries that occur during sessions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field. Certification in Strength and Conditioning (e.g., CSCS) preferred - not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in strength and conditioning, preferably in a high school or collegiate setting. Experience working with middle school and High School athletes is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong understanding of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and sports performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Certifications: CPR/AED certification required. Additional certifications related to strength and conditioning, such as NSCA-CSCS, are highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to demonstrate exercises and lift equipment as needed. Must be able to work in a physically active environment.
