Description
Essential Job Functions
Heavy Equipment Operator: Operates construction, excavation, hauling and maintenance equipment including backhoes, track hoes loaders, bulldozers, excavators, grade tractors, asphalt rollers/spreaders and screeds. Uses equipment to prepare job sites for concrete/asphalt such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks and roads. Monitors gauges or other indicators to ensure safe operation. Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines and codes.

Requirements
Soft skill requirements
Ability to meet all safety requirements and wear PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves and high visibility vest. Must be able to work as a team player with a diverse group of people. Must be able to follow directions and complete daily tasks and expectations for each specific job site.
Must be able to communicate problems to the job foreman. Must be able to work overtime and travel as required, with occasional overnight travel. Must report to work at designated start time. Must display a professional attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times. Must maintain constant alertness on job sites. 3 years experience is preferred.
Experience and education requirements
Must be at least 18 years old. - Pass a pre-employment drug test and industrial physical. - Must have a valid Drivers License, CDL a plus.
Physical requirements
Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment. Lift and carry 5-25 lbs. frequently, 25-50 lbs. often, 50-100 lbs. occasionally, with assistance. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand to operate equipment. Must have fine dexterity with both hands and ability to freely move arms. Must be able to do consistent physical effort including standing, shoveling, or walking for a minimum of 8 hours per day without fatiguing.
Exposure to a variety of weather conditions at construction sites, including extreme heat and cold, rain, sleet or snow. The noise level can be loud. This position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and exposure to dust, concrete and asphalt.
Salary Description
$17.00 - $21.00/hour
