Qualifications you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is desirable.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Statutory Accounting team, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual Medical Loss Ratio filings occurring throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights to senior management.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the audits process and address any audit findings.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure their implementation within the team.
  • Oversee and review preparation of monthly journal entries and reporting functions for monthly close.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Oversee and review State Premium Stop- Loss recovery billing and reconciling.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Contribute to our humble pursuit of excellence by performing various responsibilities that may arise, reflecting our collective goal of enhancing healthcare delivery and being the difference for the customer.

Location: Hybrid to Schenectady, New York or Rochester, New York
