Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a General Ledger Manager to oversee the general ledger function, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be highly organized, and have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of general ledger accountants
  • Create/Allocate GL codes to invoices for the AP Team to process
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Assist with monthly close activities including financial reporting and fluctuation analysis
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting
  • Manage and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Assist with annual financial audit and semi-annual bank audits
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned
  • Produce schedules that are necessary for audits and taxes
  • Address tax and tax related issues (sales tax, property tax, assist with corporate and state tax filings)
  • Renew business licenses
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, TRX, NetSuite)
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with retail restaurant equipment
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis
