Soni is partnering with an industry leading Professional Services Firm in a search for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. This role involves direct interaction with various teams, including finance, legal, procurement, and tax, to streamline processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and team leadership, and will help drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis for balance sheet and income statement.
- Oversee general ledger operations and accounts related to assets, liabilities, equity, and complex accounts.
- Provide strategic insights into account balances and financial performance drivers.
- Partner with finance leadership to streamline the expense close process and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, FP&A, procurement, tax) to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Manage accruals and work with business partners to ensure accurate expense recognition.
- Coordinate with external auditors to meet audit requirements and maintain internal controls.
- Mentor, supervise, and develop a team of accountants.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and handle special projects related to technology, system improvements, and process automation.
- Create Alteryx workflows to automate financial processes and integrate new systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and active CPA
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a background in inventory accounting.
- Previous experience in Big 4 accounting firms a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on developing team members.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience in financial statement analysis.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and experience with financial systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Experience with automation tools
Preferred:
- NetSuite or Oracle implementation experience
- IT/Software or professional services experience
Compensation: $110,000-$140,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
