The Accounting Manager will work with various cross-functional teams within the Accounting department and must possess strong accounting skills, the ability to communicate and work with various teams outside of Finance (Sales Operations and Professional Services), and a desire to make a meaningful impact. The Accounting Manager will work on all accounting and financial disciplines including, but not limited to; A/R, A/P, monthly close, expenses management, cash flows, and reporting aspects of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, including procedures, systems, collaborations, and staff development.
- Oversee and improve current accounting processes and systems to help scale the organization.
- Own the monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations as well as KPI reporting, and variance analysis with department heads
- In conjunction with internal audit and finance management, develop, implement, and maintain control procedures.
- Ensures items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared in accordance with GAAP
- Assistance with budget/forecast preparation.
- Engagement in annual audit
- May perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Minimum five (5) years relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferably within the food industry.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications, accounting software, and internet applications.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Problem solver with solid analytical skills and the ability to trouble shoot as the need arises. Involves staff in the decision-making process.
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process / audit processes
- Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
