A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that cleanliness standards are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it is up to standard, and provide training on best handling customer requests. In addition, they maintain their inventory list in case anything needs replacing and order more supplies when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Oversee staff daily
  • Check rooms and communal areas for cleanliness, including stairways and lounge areas
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene standards
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning product stock, including floor cleaners, bleach, and rubber gloves
  • Participate in large cleaning projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas

Qualifications:
  • Work experience as a housekeeping supervisor or in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills
  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and nights
