About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vet Technician to join our team at North Haledon Veterinary Care. As a Vet Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. Your primary goal will be to ensure the health and well-being of our patients, while also maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Administrative tasks including front desk management will be assigned as necessary to support the business. You will work closely with our veterinarians to provide top-notch medical care to our patients.
A $2500 sign on bonus is available to eligible candidates (CVT and/or proficient in anesthetic monitoring for >1 year).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in general veterinary nursing skills including but not limited to venipuncture, anesthestic monitoring, radiology, processing samples, and patient restraint
- Dental radiology and dental prophylaxis
- Knowledge of pet wellness care including core vaccines, preventative medicines, and nutrition
- Experience providing client education and the ability to build client relationships
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician
- Proficiency in veterinary software programs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in medical procedures and surgeries
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide compassionate care to all animal patients
Skills:
As a Vet Technician, you will utilize your strong knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology to provide exceptional care to our animal patients. You will also use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with our clients and their pets. Additionally, you will use your technical skills to perform diagnostic tests, administer medications, and assist with medical procedures. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Finally, your ability to work collaboratively with our veterinary staff will be critical in providing top-notch medical care to our animal patients.
