Oxfam America employees are able to work from home in the United States, but should reside in one of the
following states that are within a 200-mile radius of an OUS office which are located in Boston and Washington DC : ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, WV, VA, MD, NC or DC.
The Resource Development division raises funding from private donors, foundations, corporations, non-US governments and other Oxfam Affiliates. The intern will co-lead our networking project, specifically on LinkedIn, and operate the Sales Navigator module with direction from the Senior Prospect Research Officer and others. The intern will also advise on marketing strategies and tactics to identify new prospects for fundraising.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Individual Giving and Engagement Team’s (IGET) efforts to leverage LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and research potential new donor prospects by gathering and analyzing data on potential donors, including their giving history, interests, and connections to Oxfam's mission.
Familiarize with Sales Navigator and manage the tool to its full capabilities.
Collaborate with the intern of the Institutional Funding and Partnerships Team (IFP) to identify prospective private donors and key people within funding institutions for outreach.
Create detailed profiles for new donor prospects, highlighting key information and potential engagement strategies under the direction of the Senior Prospect Research Officer.
Work closely with IGET and IFP teams to align research efforts with organizational goals and strategies.
Prepare and present regular reports on research findings, including actionable insights and recommendations for donor engagement.
Maintain and update donor information in Oxfam’s CRM system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Other duties as assigned.
KEY DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS:
Prospect Lists: Develop and maintain lists of new donor prospects identified through LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Donor Profiles: Produce detailed profiles for each new prospect, including background information, giving capacity, and potential areas of interest.
Research Reports: Generate regular reports summarizing research findings and providing strategic recommendations for donor engagement.
CRM Updates: Ensure all new donor information is accurately entered and updated in the CRM system.
Engagement Strategies: Propose tailored engagement strategies for high-potential donor prospects based on research insights.
EXPECTATIONS:
Position should require approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Follow Oxfam research process, protocols and guidelines.
Perform all duties appropriately for a multi-cultural environment, treating all persons with dignity and respect.
Become familiar with and committed to Oxfam America’s mission and goals as well as feminist principles and safeguarding policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate for or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preferable) in Marketing, public relations or international development.
Excellent marketing and research skills.
Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills; ability to prioritize workload and multi-task.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Very good oral and written communication skills.
Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Team player; eager to take on challenges and work as part of a team.
Must be located in the United States.
PREFERRED:
Prior experience working in a non-profit.
Knowledge of the field of international development, humanitarian and human rights.
Salary:
$17.00 an hour
