To better support our Accounting Department and the anticipated doubling of our portfolio over the next few years, Westcore is looking for an experienced
Senior Property Accountant .
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of accounting for all transactions within legal entities assigned, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with current GAAP and/or tax guidance as well as within company policies and procedures. This includes the preparation of all property accounting transactions including purchases, sales, basis allocations, operating and fixed assets additions/deletions, NNN billings/reconciliations, fair market value analyses, forecasting, budgeting, and all other types of financial information/analysis within the company's property portfolio.
CORE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for preparation of all monthly accounting entries related to assigned properties, including revenue, operating expense accruals, debt, and depreciation. Prepare and analyze financial reports related to assigned properties, including lender and investor reports. Work closely with the property management team to perform various tenant/lease related functions such as new lease setup and annual CAM reconciliation calculations.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
(The below list is not comprehensive, and priorities will change on a day to day basis) Review and approve invoices in paperless processing system for assigned properties. Work with property managers to process monthly tenant billings. Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly close process. Assist with coordinating multiple audits of company financial statements. Assist in preparing annual budgets for each property and analyze variance to budget monthly. Prepare loan draws.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree required. CPA required. Minimum of two (2) years of financial accounting and reporting experience. Prior work experience with a public accounting firm required; Big Four accounting firm experience a plus. Real estate accounting experience preferred. Extensive working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with Yardi (or equivalent mid- to large- tier ERP System) preferred. Understanding of policy and procedure implementation and internal control documentation. Strong interpersonal skills are needed. Strong attention to detail.
