Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Operations (ADSIO), the FGDP Director is responsible for the clinical and business operations of the School of Dentistry's (SOD) Faculty Group Dental Practice (FGDP). The Director serves as the primary administrator for the FGDP in all areas of operation, including but not limited to finance management, personnel oversight, interactions with other clinic units, and SOD administration. Responsibilities include: Oversight of clinical operations, including quality and productivity of services rendered. Coordination and integration of practitioner and clinical and non-clinical staff responsibilities. Monitoring clinic personnel, patient experiences, safety, and concerns. Oversight of equipment maintenance and IT services. Ensuring regulatory compliance and handling human resource matters. Performance management and vendor relations. Developing and implementing standard operating procedures. Financial planning, management, and implementation, including budgeting and forecasting practice operations. Monitoring revenue and expenses and managing fee schedules in coordination with the ADSIO and SOD Director of Finance. Occasionally undertaking other duties and special projects as assigned by the ADSIO and/or the Dean.

Qualifications
General knowledge of the UCLA Academic Personnel Policies and/or experience working with policies and procedures of an academic institution. (Preferred) Working knowledge of University accounting forms and procedures and policies. (Preferred) Detailed knowledge of University and School rules and regulations as applied to graduates, and general requirements for degrees and admission at the graduate level. (Preferred) Demonstrated skill using a Macintosh or PC to perform a variety of projects. Intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Office Suite. (Required) Ability to provide accurate and concise information on the various UCLA policies & programs to faculty, students, and staff. (Required) Knowledge of event planning from creation of guest lists to menus and caterers. (Required) Ability to maintain website, email services, and navigate Internet websites for the Section. (Required) Superior written communication and editing skills. (Required) Superior verbal communication skills. (Required) Skill in working independently and as part of a team, prioritizing, and following through on tasks. (Required) Ability to maintain confidentiality of faculty and student files. (Required) Interpersonal skills to work with staff, faculty, students, and interface with other departments. (Required)

Bachelor's Degree BA, BS or Master's degree. (Preferred)
