Certified Surgical Technologist Educator- Full Time- Days

The CST Educator is a leader in Surgical Services, serving as a subject matter expert, educator, coach, and consultant while supporting staff, students, and interns. They apply adult learning theories, evidence-based practices, and regulatory standards to transform education and facilitate practice transitions. Collaborating with OR Nursing Leadership, they champion scientific inquiry and professional development, ensuring alignment with the scope of practice and governing bodies' standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Onboarding/Orientation: Develops, coordinates, and evaluates onboarding programs for surgical technology staff alongside the OR Nursing Educator.
  • Competency Management: Measures and supports staff competency, addressing deficiencies with leadership and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Education: Assesses learning needs, designs and implements educational programs, and evaluates their effectiveness; provides Continuing Surgical Technologist Education and inter-professional learning opportunities.
  • Professional Role Development: Guides staff in skill development, role transitions, and professional growth from novice to expert levels.
  • Research and Quality Improvement: Collaborates on integrating evidence-based practices to enhance decision-making and measurable improvements in health care services.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • At least four (4) years of Operating Room Experience
  • Current BLS Card (CPR)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in a health-related field, or Bachelor's degree in a health-related field of study
  • Central Sterile Certification with Two (2) years of experience in Sterile processing
Physical Requirements:
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements (e.g., typing on a computer keyboard) with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Lifting Requirements: Capacity to lift and move up to 25 pounds (e.g., equipment and supplies) for short distances, with reasonable accommodations if necessary.
  • Mobility and Endurance: Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods as required for office tasks, teaching, or assisting with patient care, with accommodations as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Must be physically able to operate job-specific equipment safely and effectively, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Pay Range Disclosure:
  • Standard Rate of $42.11 - $58.00 per hour plus benefits
