THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
We are seeking an Associate CAD Operator to assist in the layout and drafting of fire sprinkler systems. This role supports the design team by preparing AutoCAD drawings, helping to organizing project submittals, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD and Revit experience and will work closely with project designers to create and set up drawing files. Responsibilities include requesting information from contractors, engineers, and city agencies, ensuring the latest construction data is used, and tracking all relevant submittals. Attention to detail, the ability to understand construction drawings and timely project support are essential for success in this role.

COMPENSATION
$25.00+ per hour based on experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Using software such as AutoCAD and Revit to develop preliminary drawing files which will be used to design fire protection systems.
- Follow all established design and drafting standards.
- Work independently or with others as a team to complete all tasks and related drafting functions. Routinely work with other designers, focusing on requesting essential information and preparing accurate, high-quality drawings to support project completion.
- Request and obtain required information from General Contractors, Engineers, and City agencies, to start initial block out of the shop drawings.
- Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
- One to three years of experience as a drafter using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other software programs required to perform job.
- Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Civil, and Structural Drawings and update system designs prepared by others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work independently with some supervision.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
