JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Claims Specialist - Casualty Claims will have direct experience in handling general liability and excess claims arising from contractors, manufacturing and distribution, hospitality, auto, trucking, and premises-related general liability claims, as well as working with external Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) handling Ascot Claims.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for end-to-end management and direct handling of primary and excess casualty liability claims according to policy coverage and state requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and analyze coverage issues and prepare comprehensive coverage letters for claims handled directly or by Ascot TPAs.
  • Work closely with outside counsel to ensure cost-effective and appropriate litigation management strategies are in place that will lead to the best overall outcome.
  • Maintain proactive oversight and/or supervision of all retained outside vendors and their associated billing practices and invoices
  • Proactively negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority level.
  • Presentations to internal business partners and external clients regarding severity and trends of Casualty claims.
  • Will participate in and attend mediations, arbitrations, trials, and other claim meetings, as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years Casualty Claims experience handling both GL and excess claims.
  • Experience working with Third Party Administrators.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence others when needed.
  • Excellent organizational, desk management and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Solution oriented team player with a strong relationship management skill set working with both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate in Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • High exposure/complex claim exposure evaluation skills
  • High degree negotiation skills.
  • Must have multiple adjusters' licenses or willing to obtain licenses where needed.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree preferred, but not required
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.

The annualized base pay range for this role is: In New York is: $110,000 - $130,000.
