JOB TITLE: SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER DEPARTMENT: MARKETING STATUS: NON-EXEMPT JOB CODE: 4359
PAY SCALE:$36.68 - $43.00
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Serve as a lead designer in the department primarily in the creation, development, coordination and execution of print and digital advertisements and projects. This position must have and ma intain a high-level of expertise in creating high-impact, multimedia graphics for online, social media and member-facing promotions that are on brand for the credit union. Serve as the primary contact to design professional, on-brand powerpoint presentations for executives. May work directly with all levels of management and must be able to present and communicate efficiently the vision and purpose of creative assets.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
Serves as a lead design administrator (print and digital) and brand expert for the department. Expert resource for print and digital ad creation and implementation for the credit union. Develop, create and lead new design concepts to final delivery with department copywriters, designers, creative agencies, and internal business owners while meeting deadlines. Design powerpoint presentations with content provided by credit union executives Oversee the digital and print production process and execution of marketing/advertising initiatives with direction from the Creative Services Manager. Marketing initiatives include, but are not limited to: direct mail letters and postcards, brochures/signage/flyers, advertisements, annual report, trade show graphics, sales collateral, logos, credit cards, etc. Ensure all print and digital production materials meet our brand standards. Help create digital assets working with the Digital Content Designer Responsible for creating, updating and scheduling visuals for the print and digital displays in branches and various back office locations. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while working with internal and external creative agencies/teams. Identify emerging design trends and techniques and make recommendations to management Knowledge of different multimedia/design formats (mp4, wav, etc.) and how they can be optimized, compressed and/or modified to meet the department needs. Help maintain an organized, online archive of all print and digital assets. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position. Perform additional duties as required. PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:
Effective oral and written communication skills required to accomplish tasks. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone. Back office and branch personnel. EXTERNAL:
Creative agencies/teams, vendors, members, and prospective members. QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent work experience in print and digital design, typography, branding and color theory. EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) plus years of professional design experience in an agency and/or internal marketing department environment; five (5) plus years of digital and print production and vendor management experience; five (5) plus years of corporate branding development and implementing brand in collateral and merchandising. Financial industry experience preferred, but not essential. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Print/digital design and layout. Typing speed of thirty-five words per minute preferred. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Expert level use of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Illustrator. Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, Window System Software, Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. Corrected vision within the normal range. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc. Minimal local travel to attend off-site promotional events and some pickup and delivery of marketing materials.
