Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our growing team.
This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Interns are college students who work for Janicki to obtain work experience in varying disciplines. They work during a college break, e.g. summer break for a duration of 10-12 weeks (minimum commitment of 10 weeks).
We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in HR operations and insight into Janicki. As an HR Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the HR function as well as gaining exposure to different facets of HR management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
While learning and gaining human resources experience is primary in this role, you will also perform a variety of duties and tasks such as:
- Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
- Works with incoming new hires to ensure all preemployment items are complete.
- Work with HR or Training Coordinator to schedule and implement new hire orientation.
- Participate in organizing company events and careers days.
- Responding to inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- Communicates effectively and appropriately; uses good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best way t.o get that accomplished; speaks in a clear and credible manner, selecting the right tone for the situation and audience; listens to others and allows them to make their point
- Recognizes opportunities and initiates actions to capitalize on them; looks for new and productive ways to make an impact; demonstrates this characteristic when it comes to generating new ideas or processes, uses sound judgment about when to take action and when to seek guidance or permission.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of your job.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
- Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work well independently and under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Salary range for this role is between $24 - $26, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
