Summary:

The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for facilitating both hands-on and classroom training for field staff, analyzing training metrics, and supporting compliance with process safety. This role involves performing technical assessments on tier progression, assisting with training material development, and ensuring competency in equipment operation, safety, and regulatory compliance. The specialist will collaborate with key stakeholders across HSE, Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Compression teams. This position reports to the Learning and Development Manager.

Schedule:

  • The schedule follows normal business hours, with occasional work outside of normal business
  • This position will work a hybrid work
  • The position involves travel within the S. Certarus' WTX regional hubs, with occasional travel to other U.S. hubs as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for conducting engaging and effective training sessions on all Certarus equipment that is utilized for daily operations.
  • Lead skills assessments and coaching sessions, provide feedback to operations management for field staff development and progression.
  • Assist operations with planning, execution, and organization of technical training at the facilities assigned, including new hire, on-the-job training, scheduling, and evaluation of re- certification assessments.
  • Analyze training outcomes and performance metrics to measure effectiveness, refine programs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote compliance and through our learning management system (LMS), advocate for safety and compliance, and provide input on refining training processes to meet industry standards.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas field, with a solid understanding of industry practices, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and effective training in autonomous and diverse environments.
  • Strong skills in Excel, including the ability to create graphs and track training data.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and management of change (MOC).
  • Background in engineering principles, with a strong grasp of mechanical, industrial, or chemical engineering concepts as they apply to gas systems and equipment.
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to mastering new tools and workflows.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively with various teams.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office with an aptitude to learn new computer programs and mobile applications quickly.
  • Comply with all regulatory and Certarus policies and HSE practices.
Preferred Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or technical certification in a related field (Instrumentation Technology, Applied Sciences, Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance or a similar discipline) is preferred.
  • Certifications in process safety management (PSM) or technical training such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) are preferred.
