Salary:

Rapid City Medical Center is hiring a Full-Time phlebotomistin high volume, fast paced medical laboratory. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Hours will include rotating early evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Pediatric experience preferred.

EDUCATION: Completion of a credited phlebotomy program or at least one year of experience.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques.
  • Knowledge of clinic protocols and policies.
  • Skill in efficient and effective draws.
  • Skill in pleasant interactions with staff, patients and others.


ABILITIES:

  • Ability to accommodate on-call shift and weekend/holiday rotations.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to instructions.


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Moves among many outpatient and inpatient settings. Exposure to communicable diseases, sharp instruments, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to walk to various settings and to bend and reach. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and equipment and help with patient transport and transfer. Occasional stress in dealing with priorities.
