Mercy Medical Center is hiring: Lead Phlebotomist in Lutherville Timonium

Overview:

In addition to usual Phlebotomy duties, in the absence of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, will ensure efficient Out-patient and In-patient Phlebotomy operations; will maintain ETime Payroll hours. Adjust scheduling and staffing as necessary; answer Physician and clinical queries; and complete occurrence reports as needed.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Education and Work Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Passed an accredited course including clinical experience and have 3 years of phlebotomy experience.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Certification Requirements:
• Phlebotomy Certification Preferred
• CPR- HeartSaver Preferred

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Meditech (if applicable to position)

  • Performance Manager/NetLearning
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
• Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

• Other Requirements:
• Venipuncture, patient and customer relations, computer literacy
• Venipuncture, bleeding time and process lab samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
• Operate simple medical laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuge
