ABOUT THE ROLE The Data Analyst position at Cupertino Electric is vital in converting complex business and technical data into actionable insights. These insights are essential for enhancing operational efficiency and informing strategic decision-making. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and business understanding to provide advanced analytics and reporting across our integrated technology stack. Data Analysis and Reporting Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide insights into business operations, project performance, and financial metrics. Conduct detailed JD Edwards ERP data analyses to support financial planning and operational decision-making. Examine data from construction management platforms (Procore and ACC) to track project progress, resource allocation, and efficiency metrics. Build and optimize queries in Databricks to process large datasets, supporting advanced analytics initiatives. Design automated reporting solutions using Reports Now and Power BI that integrate data from multiple sources. Support DevOps practices by creating and maintaining monitoring and performance dashboards. Technical Implementation Collaborate with Data Engineers to develop and maintain data pipelines in Databricks Create and maintain documentation Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems across all platforms Support the maintenance and improvement of existing reports and dashboards Assist in data migration projects and system integrations Participate in DevOps initiatives to improve reporting deployment and automation Business Partnership Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions Provide training and support to end-users on reporting tools Present findings and recommendations to various levels of management Participate in cross-functional projects to improve data accessibility and utility Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review). Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). ABOUT YOU With over 3 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, you bring the following technical and analysis competencies to the position. Technical Competencies Data Platform Knowledge: Advanced SQL querying and optimization . Experience with Databricks environment and Spark SQL . Understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling . Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline development . Proficiency in Reports Now for custom report development. Business Intelligence: Expert-level Power BI development skills . Experience creating interactive dashboards and reports . Knowledge of data visualization best practices . Understanding of performance optimization techniques. DevOps and System Development Life Cycle: Experience with DevOps practices and tools . Knowledge of pipelines for report deployment . Familiarity with version control and automated testing.Understanding of monitoring and logging best practices. Construction Management Systems: Procore data structure and reporting capabilities . ACC system integration and analysis . Experience combining data from multiple construction management platforms . Understanding of construction workflow and processes. Enterprise Systems: JD Edwards experience . Reports Now development and customization . Understanding of enterprise architecture principles . Experience integrating data from multiple business systems. Analysis Competencies Requirements Analysis: Ability to gather and document business requirements. Experience in translating business needs into technical specifications. Skilled in stakeholder interviews and requirement validation. Understanding of construction industry reporting requirements. Process Analysis: Understanding of business process modeling. Experience in identifying process improvements through data analysis. Knowledge of workflow optimization techniques. Ability to analyze construction project workflows Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills . Experience in root cause analysis . Ability to develop and evaluate multiple solutions . Skilled in data-driven decision making Quality Analysis: Experience in data quality assessment and improvement. Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. Understanding of testing principles and practices. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field Licensure/Certifications: None required. Experience: 3+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting . Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale databases . Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query . Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Databricks .
