Role & Responsibilities

  • Gather and document detailed data transformation and financial process requirements.
  • Create and manage project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain technical, process, and data-related documentation.
  • Design, analyze, implement, and improve complex Excel-based and Python-based processes, data controls, and reconciliations.
  • Support acceptance testing; create and execute test cases; analyze and reconcile complex test results using Excel and Python.
  • Enhance and automate validation and input preparation processes.
  • Maintain and track development features and stories in JIRA.
  • Troubleshoot, track, and resolve project issues, dependencies, and configuration changes.
  • Lead analysis, requirements gathering, and testing of financial reports using advanced Excel and custom Python code.
  • Perform complex data and report analysis involving financial, forecasting, and risk data.
  • Assess impacts of data source and product changes on systems and processes.
  • Create engaging and detailed user guides, specification documents, release notes, and testing results.
  • Support various project management activities, including control requirements, issue troubleshooting, data conversion, cataloging, and user training.
Qualifications
  • Degree in accounting, quantitative finance, statistics, mathematics, economics, data analytics, or a related quantitative field preferred, with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in programming or data mining languages such as SQL, Python, or SAS.
  • Experience with large data sets and relational databases.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to use SQL to query and display large data sets while optimizing workbook performance.
  • Proven experience writing SQL to query complex data structures and working with analytics.
  • Expertise in Python coding.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and general ledger/subledger data is highly preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of application development following Agile methodology.
  • Experience with different databases and an understanding of data and financial reporting concepts.
  • Experience with implementing or modifying financial systems or applications, preferably related to accounting functions.
  • Strong data and financial analytical skills; quick understanding of complex financial concepts; mortgage industry experience preferred.
