Job Title: Hardware Installation Technician

Job Responsibilities
• Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements. Design and optimize network topologies.
• Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare engineering plans and site installation for Technical Design Packages.
• Develop hardware installation schedules.
• Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site. Prepare site installation and test reports. Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment. Install network hardware. Train site personnel in proper use of hardware.
• Build specialized interconnecting cables.
Required Skills/Work Experience
• 3-5+ years of relative experience
• Install hardware such as computers, servers, printers, routers, switches, and other peripherals.
• Assemble and configure devices according to technical specifications.
• Set up hardware with appropriate drivers, software, and network connections.
• Ensure hardware compatibility with existing systems and software.
• Install and configure network hardware like routers, switches, and modems.
• Ensure connectivity and functionality of networked devices.
• Conduct initial testing to verify hardware functionality and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including failures and malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance to extend hardware lifespan.
• Replace faulty components or parts as needed.
• Install and configure upgrades to existing hardware.
• Recommend new hardware based on evolving organizational needs.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or related field
