Overview of Admissions Recruiter
The Department of Admissions is seeking an Admissions Recruiter to join their dynamic team! The role of the Admissions Recruiter is to engage, attract, and recruit prospective students.
Pay:
- 50,000 - 55,000
Duties and Responsibilities of Admissions Recruiter
Recruitment:
- Identify and offer Admissions scholarships to admitted students
- Manage the awarding, communication and reporting of the scholarship program, partner with Financial Aid as needed
- Responsible for dual credit and recruitment of students registered in PNW dual credit courses
- Target recruitment efforts of higher academic standing (Chancellor Scholars and scholarship candidates)
- Establish relationships with Guidance Counselors
- Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other events as determined
- Provide pre-admission counseling to prospective students and their families
- Provide staff coverage in the Enrollment Service Center
- Communicate with prospective students and families to educate and move students through the enrollment funnel
- Participate in campus visits during the week and weekends when needed
- Provide admissions presentations to prospective students
- Develop, implement and coordinate recruitment activities
- Coordinate on campus Admissions events, for example: open house, scholarship breakfast, guidance counselor events, AIST, etc.
- Coordinate the Central Midwest College Fair
- Partner with academic departments for promotion and marketing of open houses
- Partner with facilities to ensure space is reserved and set-up to specifications for events
- Work with Executive Director to market events to internal and external audiences

Education of Admissions Recruiter
- Requires a Bachelor's degree
- One year of professional experience working in a related field to an admission office
- PNW experience preferred
- Experience in a higher education environment
- Experience working with student populations
- Any experience in the field of sales, marketing, recruitment and/or public relations will be considered
- Internship level positions as well as undergraduate and graduate positions held in higher education will be considered
- Must be a self-starter with strong written, verbal, & interpersonal skills
- Proven success at organizing events & providing professional presentations
- Demonstrated analytical & problem solving skills
- Self-motivated, attention to detail, focus on quality, & team-oriented
- Ability to manage involvement in multiple projects
- Build collaborative work relationships with staff & community partners in high schools & area colleges
- Work with diverse populations
- Attend recruitment events scheduled days, evenings & sometimes weekends
- Must have a valid driver's license; Must be able to use personal vehicle to drive on behalf of the University; Must meet the Minimum Driver Qualifications as defined by the Use of Vehicles for University Business Policy
- Understanding of the enrollment process for prospective & admitted students, knowledge of Northwest Indiana & Northeast Illinois HS & Community College markets, experience with Eullician or Slate systems, Spanish speaking
