HR GeneralistClick Here to Apply OnlineJob DescriptionLocation: St. Joseph Medical CenterPosted Date: 9/27/2024Job Type: Full TimeDepartment: 4119.72800 HR EXECUTIVE ADMINThe Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR and recruitment related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR Director in supporting the facility departments. This position carries out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: recruitment and staffing, onboarding and off-boarding, data maintenance, policies and procedures, compensation, employee relations, workers' compensation, leaves of absence, and employment law compliance. Service: Responds to employee requests and questions.Maintains compliance with state and federal laws/regulations including, but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, Title VII, Workers' Compensation, OFCCP, FLSA, etc. People: Consistently follows facility guidelines and procedures in performance. Facilitates the recruitment process to hire and retain qualified individuals by creating and maintaining job requisitions, posting job ads, screening and managing candidates, and coordinating interviews. Creates offer letter, coordinates new hire paperwork and conducts new employee orientation. Updates and maintains accurate employee records in Lawson HRIS with employee changes, new hires, and terminations. Quality: Completes annual education requirements. Conducts audits of various HR data as needed and recommends corrective action. Assists with collecting and tracking completed performance evaluation forms. Completes and tracks employee exit interviews. Assists in maintaining employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Generates and distributes reports regularly and as requested.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Strong computer skills including intermediate skill level with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Thorough knowledge of office administration procedures. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail with accurate keying capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with an HRIS system required Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/regulations governing employment and pay practices including, but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, Title VII, Workers' Compensation, OFCCP, FLSA, etc. Ability to adapt to an evolving work environment with changing demands. Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive and confidential situations and documents. Other certification requirements as defined by the certification policy. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.PREFERRED: HR certification preferred. Experience with an Applicant Tracking System preferred.
