What does the job involve?
The plant HR Generalist provides day-to-day tactical support for the manufacturing non-union sites. The role involves working closely with site managers in the administration and development of a variety of HR policies and procedures, including employee relations, talent acquisition, training and development, compensation, benefit plans and HRIS systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their career with a growing company.
The role will be based 3 days per week at Spencer Aerospace (Valencia, CA 91355) and 2 days per week at SSP (Burbank, CA 91504)
What will my responsibilities include?
- To support business growth by managing recruitment using Senior's online recruitment system, "Recruit," from advertising vacancies to new hire procedures
- Managing employee relations by thoroughly investigating, resolving and communicating employee questions, issues, concerns, and grievances, for the facility
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with line managers and colleagues
- The ability to drive day-to-day people processes, for example, performance reviews, training and development needs, and employee engagement, including the local administration of the Global Engagement Survey
- HR Metrics: tracks turnover metrics/retention and provides recommendations for improvements
- To own, implement and maintain HR processes to include, On/Off Boarding, HR systems maintenance, and LOAs
- Champion the application and interpretation of HR systems, policies, and programs ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Liaise with group HR teams e.g. on benefits administration and global online training
- Maintains credibility as a subject matter expert in HR policies and procedures by delivering exceptional internal and external HR customer service for the company
- Handling information confidentially while displaying excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Creating and distributing internal and external communications
- Facilitating employee training and needs assessments
- Leading employee exit interviews and providing feedback to management
- Refines and streamlines HR processes to ensure accuracy and improvements
- Working with finance to manage payroll and ensure compliance with wage and hours requirements
- Never satisfied with the status quo; always pushing for improvements and change

- Possess accurate and updated knowledge of Federal and State laws applicable to wages, hours, working conditions, safety, employee relations- etc. to ensure compliance with state/federal legal requirements

What qualifications should I have?
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or the equivalent of experience and education
- HR Certification preferred
Experience:
- 3-5 years' HR Generalist experience including, leave management, worker's compensation, employee relations, investigations, recruitment, learning and development etc
- Experience in aerospace or manufacturing is desirable
- Experience with ADP Enterprise is a plus
