Job Description

The Director Accounting plays a key role in the growing global accounting team. The responsibilities include the following:
- Manage and lead the accounting organization and transactional areas related the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function including accounts payable, expense reporting, cost and general accounting
- Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, account analysis and preparation and posting journal entries for P2P related transactions including accounts payable, expense reports, P.O. accruals, specimen and clinical trial accruals, inventory and cost accounting
- Oversee inventory and cost accounting and partner with CDMO and 3rd party inventory providers on cycle counts, physical inventory, WACC, standard cost accounting etc.
- Oversee all aspects of the global accounts payable and expense reports team including timely and accurate invoice and expense report processing, payments, issue resolution, establishing and maintaining strong vendor relationships, and compliance with company policies and regulations
- Drive P2P transformation initiatives, including implementation of new tools and validating system improvements. Create, implement, and maintain processes and procedures.
- Assist with various aspects of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) including the development and documentation of controls surrounding P2P processes, performance of controls owned by P2P accounting organization and maintain effective internal control processes
- Coordinate and lead quarterly and annual audit process for P2P related areas
- Work closely with the FP&A team to provide support for the monthly flux analyses, and annual budget and planning process related to P2P
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including internal and external audit
- Manage and complete special projects as necessary
- Manage and engage members of the accounting team
- Others tasks as assigned related to the accounting functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics
- CPA required
- Big 4 experience preferred
- 10 to 15+ years of relevant and progressive finance and accounting experience required, with at least 6 years in a publicly traded company ideally in a global environment
- Biotech industry experience preferred
- Deep knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC and SOX404 regulations and guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences, including external audit firm, external law firm, regulators, and key internal decision makers
- Strong analytical skills coupled with good decision-making skills
- Experience with NetSuite preferred, intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Energetic, hands-on, resourceful self-started who can partner with all levels and functions of the company and takes a consultative and collaborative approach
- A team player who can manage cross functional involvement for the purpose of getting to a common goal
- Excellent leadership and influencing skills
- A leader who is comfortable in fast-moving, dynamic environments and adaptable to change, able to meet stringent deadlines.
- Ability to scale and grow a complex business, seen as a problem-solver and builder who strives for continuous improvement
