Job Purpose: The Accounting Manager is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, invoicing our clients, payroll, and preparing month-end for the business. They will maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance, monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to assist managers in taking strategic decisions.
Major Responsibilities
- Process payroll including reconciling and maintaining all payroll related general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for all government remittances (State Sales Tax, Use Tax, 401k, etc.)
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Posting journal entries.
- Monitor and track expenses.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Miscellaneous office requirements.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Accounting Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Understanding of industry benchmarks in accounting best practices
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel or any other spreadsheet
