Position Summary

Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to act as an Accounting Associate to perform a wide range of accounting, administrative, and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive benefits package in a casual office environment.

Essential Functions

• Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable and be a back-up for customer billing
• Process customer credit applications. This will require requesting references and investigation of credit risk
• Work with the sales department to gather accurate information for the initial set-up of a new customer
• Compiling and posting the daily deposit
• Assist with the application of customer payments and processing of credit cards through an online merchant service
• Match purchase order forms with vendor invoices, and record the necessary information
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Respond timely to inquiries from vendors and customers to research and resolve concerns or discrepancies
• File and maintain records
• Transmit information or documents to colleagues or customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine
• Assist accounting department in other projects as needed

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience in accounting / finance field
• Strong analytical skills
• Attention to details and ability to work independently
• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
