Chipton-Ross is seeking a Production Controller 1 for a contract opportunity in Oxnard, CA.
This position is 100% onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control by optimizing inventory storage systems.
o Optimize inventory storage systems.
o Interface with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Production Control and other related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material.
o Make decisions on part categorization, default bin size and location
o Research kit shortages, expedite missing kits, and be meticulous in kit integration.
o Understand, research, and reconcile traceability.
o Ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures.
o Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement practices.
o Manage projects using relevant software tools and track to meet completion dates.
o Support the organization's metric goals and objectives.
o Analyze flow of material to reduce time of request to delivery.
o Packing and shipping outgoing orders via UPS, FedEx and various freight carriers.
o Receive and transact all incoming material in MRP system.
o Conduct cycle counts to validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
o Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
o Assists in determining possible and actual shortages may initiate action to correct these deficiencies. Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-year materials and production control experience.
o Experience with inventory operations within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (Deltek Costpoint) system and Microsoft applications.
o Capable of using forklift and other inventory related equipment.
o May require off Friday and weekend support.
PREFERRED:
o Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
o Prefer experience with Kiting.
o Liaising between manufacturing & Inventorying.
o Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
EDUCATION:
Accredited HSD/GED
WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. Night shift position from 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
