Job Description Position Overview: Under close supervision, performs the assembly of Teledyne sub-level and deliverable electrical components per the drawings and attached documentation to meet customer specifications while ensuring safety and quality standards. This includes a wide variety of repetitive and non-repetitive mechanical/electrical subassembly and assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to produce products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assemble components to top level assembly per drawing and procedures. Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required. Uses a variety of hand & power tools (i.e. arbor press, soldering iron, electrical wire strippers) to perform skilled fitting and assembly work. Inspect parts and performs basic tests. Prepare products for final testing which include strip, tin, and labeling. Perform hand soldering using a soldering iron (tinning operation) Performs basic testing, assembly and or disassembly of assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multi-meter, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, etc. Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel. Support stockroom kitting of materials for electrical assembly Recommend process improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality and employee safety. Actively participate in team problem solving methods for product quality enhancements. Learn entry-level material transactions and labor reporting on MRP planning system. Report accurate information within the ERP system in a timely fashion Communicate written and verbal technical issues to management and engineering for problem resolution. Must be flexible to operate in multiple departments and rapidly changing work environments. Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all departments within the company Other duties as assigned by supervisor/lead of the department Always use Teledyne approved PPE (personal protective equipment) Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Manufacturing experience preferred Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work with changing demands in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers Knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Experience in the use of electrical test equipment to perform DC Resistance and Insulation Resistance measurements. Ability to read and interpret standard measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, dial caliber, etc.). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing. Computer Literate- proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, ERP/MRP (helpful) Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read drawings and follow build procedures to completion of job. Must be a team player.
