Summary

CHS in Mankato, MN is hiring for an  Electronic Instrument Technician  this position will be responsible for Maintaining all electronic and pneumatic instruments and valves in reliable working condition as directed by the Department Manger or as needed and requested by other department managers.  You must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.

Compensation Data

Salary: $43.82 hr

This is a union role. Full rate of pay after successful completion of probationary period. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, replace/install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate all electronic and pneumatic instruments and valves in the plant.
  • Work with all hand and power tools used in the craft.
  • Work with all electronic and pneumatic test instruments normally used in the plant instrument shop.
  • Distinguish between colors ranging from red to violet.
  • Work together with other crafts and fellow technicians.
  • Understand and work according to all safety procedures implemented in the plant.
  • Clean up all work areas.
  • Able to take directions from supervisors.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an accredited two-year electronic instrumentation course and two years of field experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge with several years of experience may be accepted in place of technical school training.
  • Knowledgeable in communication and calibration software

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work alone and to direct others when necessary.
  • Considerable periods on feet including standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Must be willing to work in noisy, dusty, and otherwise undesirable conditions.
  • Load, unload, and carry material up to 50 lbs
  • Climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft.
