Job Description:
- The Data Analyst role assesses complex data systems and programs in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests.
- Creates programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. Examines data quality, applications, and functions.
- Produces output and sustains operation.
- Researches new data sources and analytical tools.
- Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
- Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer.
- Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools.
- Uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences, varying levels of management.
- Ability to build constructive, effective relationships inside and outside of the organization.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Imperative to be detail oriented, organized and self-starter.
- Ability to plan and facilitate / conduct training among peers, presentations, and meetings.
- Ability to apply VDOT programs, policies, and activities to daily departmental/division tasks.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving and decision-making experience.
- Demonstrates in-depth data analysis.
- Demonstrates ability to examine data and make independent decisions based on analysis
- Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and interpret data.
- Demonstrates ability to design, analyze and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
- Demonstrates ability to compile and organize statistical data into reports.
- Experience in a procurement environment or with workforce salary data would be preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences, varying levels of management
