Position Overview: As a Janitor for Beach Front Property Management, Inc., your role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall well-being of the housing facility. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your duties will include cleaning and sanitizing common areas, addressing maintenance issues, and contributing to the overall positive living experience within the housing facility.


Reports to: Affordable Community Property Manager

Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Location: Skid Row, Los Angeles CA


Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Essential Functions of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Rake or sweep gravel leaves and grass trimmings off sidewalks, paths, and other areas
  • Pick up debris, litter and trash including enclosed dumpster areas. Empties trash cans, Removes graffiti. May clean restrooms and laundry rooms
  • Pick up, move, distribute, deliver, set up and disassemble cleaning supplies, and furniture.
  • Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet seat covers, toilet paper, and sanitary supplies.
  • Maintain and clean all common area marble, tile, and carpeting.
  • Maintain logs and records.
  • Clean and maintain in a sanitary condition: the pool deck, bulkhead, spas, restrooms, washrooms.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a residential or similar setting.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents and colleagues.
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow them.


Requirements:

Travel Requirements: Travel for this position requires you to have reliable transportation. Travel requirements may change at any time.


Physical Requirements: Require persons in this position to lift up to 35lbs and wear face covering when working with the public or in close proximity to other staff necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
