Accounting Manager Job Description


This position falls under the Chief Financial Officer and reports directly to the Controller. Significant potential for upward growth within the organization as this is a vital new role to our rapid growth. Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the monthly close and concentrating on overseeing and managing the accounting function of the revenue cycle, our most vital process in the organization. The Accounting Manager will assist management, senior leadership and other users in making key financial decisions and payor contract negotiations. The person in this role will guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing revenue and collection policies and procedures. This position provides the opportunity to become an expert in the increasingly vital skill of healthcare revenue and billing.


Responsibilities include:

  • In this high-profile role, Accounting Manager will work closely with the billing team, the Controller, the CFO, and our third party payors and will have regular exposure to Company ownership. We are looking for someone who can balance the need for profit opportunity with exceptional patient care.
  • The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing the general ledger monthly close and related reporting.
  • The Accounting Manager will manage the entire revenue cycle from billing to payment and reconciliation, to general ledger entries, as well as write internal communications regarding the revenue cycle and denial tracking process. You will be accountable for daily productivity goals, such as:
  • Billing cleanly
  • Rejection management
  • Denial tracking and resolution
  • Collection activity
  • AR Aging reports
  • Establishing and reporting on key billing performance indicators


Additional key desired skills and attributes include:

  • Strong organizational skills in multi-tasking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skill level in Excel
  • Next-level analytical nature, the ability to ask the appropriate real-time follow-up questions
