Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • One year business college or three years successful secretarial experience, preferred
  • Competent organizational and filing skills
  • Sense of confidentiality
  • Skills in interpersonal relationships
  • Computer skills
Performance Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assume positive role for public relations in representing the school system.
  • Perform general secretarial duties such as: Typing and duplicating; Word processing and editing; Preparing correspondence; Record keeping and filing; Preparing reports, orders and purchase orders; Appropriate use of telephone; and Operate office equipment
  • Performs clerical duties specific to the assigned position which may include:
  • Maintain files for ESOL, Title III, PBIS, Homebound and other departmental files.
  • Maintain files for Student Services related timesheets and expense statements.
  • Maintain financial records related to departmental functions.
  • Order and distribute supplies and forms for Student Services staff.
  • Process purchase orders and invoices for Director and staff.
  • Maintain line item budget for each account under the jurisdiction of the Director.
  • Process travel vouchers for the Director and all personnel authorized for travel.
  • Forward and receive confidential student records to and from appropriate agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by District Administrator.

Other Functions:

Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 35% walking/standing, 55% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.
