Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the overall shift production, PPOH, Quality, Customer Relations, Housekeeping, Security, Safety, and maintaining and developing the workforce.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises work performed in the facility laundry area including receiving, pick up, sorting, cleaning, and distribution of laundry to customers.
  • Handle and troubleshoot all issues posed by supervisors and ensure proper resolution.
  • Ensures appropriate housekeeping standards are met.
  • Orders receive and properly distribute all necessary supplies needed to ensure proper workflow.
  • Assists with direct cost control and knowledge of contracts when dealing with vendors. Oversees the daily monitoring of payroll and labor costs.
  • Assuring the cost-effective operation of the plant, while maintaining a safe work environment for the staff.
  • Direct liaison with the Engineering manager to assure the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment.
  • Assists with reports monthly, weekly, daily operating Reports, Key Indicators, and able to read and interpret a P&L statement.
  • Responsible for plant safety and overseeing the regulatory compliance for all required agencies.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA and effective execution of its principals.
  • Assures all new hires and employees receive regulatory training and continually trains in safety awareness.
  • Assists the customers/clients with any emergency, problems that may occur.
  • Ability to understand production costing and laundry design and development will allow for exposure to a variety of operational methods.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual reviews and employee disciplinary procedures.
  • Maintain PPOH at expected levels (130).
  • Assist in the development of action plans and development plans for the current supervisory team, assuring their growth and success including employee retention.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/BA in Management or equivalent; minimum five years operations/ management experience- preferably laundry operations with large scale plants in management or commercial field.
  • Spanish language skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of production methods and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of laundry equipment and basic washroom chemistry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changingenvironment.
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
  • Ability to use knowledge of working environment to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
