We are currently seeking skilled proposal writers with expertise in Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) within the FEDSIM service delivery model. If you have experience in creating staffing plans, staffing rationale, script writing, and developing technical and management slides, we want to hear from you!
This role is part of the Growth Office's Capture Operations & Excellence Group, focusing on Leidos' most significant and strategic bids. It's an exciting opportunity for those eager to make a tangible impact and receive recognition for their contributions. As a Proposal Writer, you'll directly collaborate with Capture Executives, Solution Architects, and Technical Volume Leads to produce high-quality work products that meet our customers' needs. Your expertise will extend across all Leidos sectors, including Defense Systems, National Security, Civil & Health, Digital Modernization, and Commercial & International, and you should have a track record of success with large, complex proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and architect proposal slides for AAS/FEDSIM, including staffing plans, management approaches, technical approaches, transition plans, and oral presentation scripts.
Provide guidance and oversight to junior proposal writers.
Utilize strong communication and interviewing skills to gather critical information from stakeholders for proposal writing.
Create clear, persuasive proposal sections that simplify complex ideas into accessible content.
Improve proposal quality through effective process enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of related experience, including 5 years in proposal writing for Federal Government solicitations.
Proven experience with AAS FEDSIM proposals.
Experience in traditional video, live orals, and demonstration/scenario proposals.
A record of producing high-quality, successful proposals.
Demonstrated ability to write and lead technical, management, staffing, and transition volumes for complex programs.
Excellent writing, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
A strong work ethic with a desire for professional growth.
U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the role.
This position is primarily based in our Reston, VA headquarters with potential telework allowances of up to 25% between live proposals.
Desired Qualifications:
At least 6 years as a proposal writer adept in Federal Government solicitations.
Minimum of 2 years supporting AAS FEDSIM proposals.
Ability to coach and guide others to ensure consistency across various authors.
Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance, with eligibility for SCI.
