Cath Lab RNs play a crucial role in the preparation, monitoring, and recovery of patients undergoing procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and other cardiovascular interventions. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.\nPrepare and assist patients before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures, ensuring the safe administration of medications and sedation.\nMonitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status during procedures, utilizing advanced monitoring equipment.\nCollaborate with physicians, interventional cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedural care.\nAssist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cardiac catheters, imaging equipment, and other medical devices.\nAdminister medications, including sedation and pain management, as prescribed for procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement.\nEducate patients and their families on procedure preparation, post-procedure care, and recovery expectations.\nMonitor patients for complications, such as bleeding, arrhythmias, or hemodynamic instability, and provide immediate intervention as needed.\nMaintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, procedures, and interventions, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.\nParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and professional development related to cardiac care.\nProvide emotional support to patients and families, addressing concerns regarding procedures and recovery.\n\n\nQualifications:\n\nEducation: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\nLicensure:\n\nValid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.\n\n\nCertification:\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\nAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.\nCardiac Cath Lab (CCL) certification preferred.\n\n\n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #29988907.
