Position Overview: The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of our supplier ecosystem, including OEM manufacturers, hardware distribution partners, and installation contractors. This includes identifying suppliers, negotiating preferred terms and prices, developing and implementing our procurement strategy, ensuring supply availability, partnering with accounting to track spend, and supporting engineering efforts to standardize designs of distributed energy systems. Key Responsibilities: Define and implement the overall procurement strategy, strategic sourcing, and supplier selection, aimed at optimizing costs and operational efficiencies. Collaborate with Haven’s engineering and operations teams to understand technical requirements for equipment and other components (including battery energy storage, PV modules, PV inverters, and other balance of system components) and work to standardize system designs, implementation, and operations, considering supply chain risks, costs, etc. Negotiate terms and pricing with hardware suppliers and drive procurement activities utilizing standard framework agreements to facilitate purchasing activities. Define and develop cost roadmaps for all equipment and services. Work with accounting to establish and track job-cost accounting to inform supply chain strategies. Coordinate with distribution partners to ensure just-in-time delivery of solar panels, inverters, and batteries to installation sites. Manage capacity planning and scheduling to ensure sufficient installer availability during peak periods. Develop contingency plans to handle disruptions in the supply chain, such as delays or shortages. Track and analyze vendor performance, establish and maintain relevant KPIs, monitor and manage relevant metrics including spend analytics, operational efficiencies, supplier performance, warranty recovery, and benefit capture from procurement activities. Stay updated on market trends, product innovations, and regulatory changes in the solar energy sector to inform procurement decisions.
The Ideal Candidate:
6+ years of supply chain development and/or strategic sourcing experience. Deep working knowledge of the residential PV / ESS market and vendor landscape, hardware, pricing, terms, and trends. Skilled at vetting vendors for quality and experience. Track record of negotiating with hardware suppliers, distributors, and installation contractors. Solid knowledge and demonstrated understanding of sourcing and/or purchasing leadership, vendor relations, procurement, sourcing, distribution, and tracking program savings and supplier service KPIs. Ability to influence internal and external teams, with strong negotiation skills. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and manage risks. Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders including engineering on technical subject matters. Experience working with 1099 contractors and managing third-party service providers. Background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is helpful. MBA is a plus. California-specific experience a plus.
