About the Job
As a Senior Battery Engineer on the Cell Development Team, you will help to deploy Anthro Energy's industry-leading lithium-ion polymer electrolyte. Through advanced cell design and state-of-the-art manufacturing, you will ensure that Anthro reaches the market with a battery product with unmatched safety and mechanical performance. A successful candidate will have a mature understanding of engineering fundamentals, lithium-ion industry experience, creativity, and an appreciation for a fast-paced startup environment. The Cell Development Team is responsible for integrating Anthro polymer electrolyte with cutting-edge cell designs and production processes. The Senior Engineer will identify opportunities for improvement to both the cell architecture and the process, and make those improvements a reality through rapid, cross-functional R&D. This role requires collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure Anthro batteries achieve the highest performance possible using scalable production methods. You will be expected to take a hands-on role in planning and executing experiments, analyzing and communicating results, and commercializing Anthro’s revolutionary battery technology. You will help harmonize innovation and creativity with scale and economics. What you will do
Specify new battery designs based on internal research and deep industry knowledge Develop and validate new production methods and equipment Build, test, and analyze lithium-ion batteries with an eye towards quality and reliability Convert product specifications to manufacturing designs Develop and implement quality control protocols Present results to internal and external partners Work in-person, on-site at Anthro’s lab in San Jose (Alameda, CA starting April 2025), and travel to partner locations as needed Minimum Requirements
5+ years in the battery industry Familiar with lithium-ion cell design and current cell production technologies Comfortable managing projects between internal and external parties An excellent communicator and team player Able to manage multiple workflows and projects Ambitious, looking to increase your responsibility in a fast-growing company Visa sponsorship not available Compensation and Benefits
