Solarcore is an advanced materials technology company that develops the most scientifically innovative thermal solutions on the planet. We are on a mission to solve the world’s largest thermal efficiency problems by revolutionizing the antiquated world of thermal insulation. As we expand our capabilities, we are excited to establish our first-ever internal manufacturing facility dedicated to Solarcore rolled goods coating production. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead this groundbreaking initiative.


As the Head of Manufacturing, you will report directly to the Co-founder & COO. You will be responsible for leading the plant start up and ongoing operations of Solarcore’s first fiber & textile coating manufacturing facility. This is a unique and pivotal role, where you will oversee the entire process from siting, commissioning, and installation all the way though to daily operations. You will be instrumental in shaping the facility’s capabilities, ensuring high standards of quality, and driving continual improvement.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Lead the planning, design, and construction phases of the new textile and fiber coating production facility.
  • Ensure compliance for site compliance and government agencies with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and implement project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive operational plans to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
  • Manage & lead the manufacturing team and build a culture of quality, innovation & respect
  • Oversee the procurement, installation and commissioning of all machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production goals.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Implement and enforce safety, quality, and environmental standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and optimize the supply chain, including procurement of raw materials, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performance team of operators to support the plant’s operations.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the plant’s operational budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
  • Analyze financial reports and data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare regular financial and operational reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies for the plant’s growth and sustainability.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and processes to enhance production capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Work closely with R&D, product development, and other internal teams to align manufacturing capabilities with company goals.
  • Liaise with external partners, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless operations.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in industrial management, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in plant management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment preferably in textile and fiber production.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and environmental regulations in the textile manufacturing industry.


Working Conditions:


  • The Head of Manufacturing will be based at the new production facility and expected to oversee all aspects of its operations.
  • Location of manufacturing plant will be in Ohio, Indiana or North Carolina. This role will be involved in the final site selection
  • The role may require occasional travel to meet with suppliers, customers, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet project and operational deadlines.
