MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field. Completed, relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for years of relevant work experience. 1 year of education = 2 years of experience.

* Experience with CATIA, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or equivalent Product Design Solution.

* Basic knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.

* Strong willingness to solve problems that have a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional processes, and difficult coordination requirements.

* Exposure converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels.

* Proven ability to read technical drawings and schematics with strong analytical and mathematical abilities.

* Good communication skills.

* Proven computer proficiency.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

* Interpret manufacturing/assembly drawings and process specifications to create accurate technician level work instructions that fully conform to design requirements.

* Optimize order of operations and assembly sequence to maximize build efficiency and to reduce the probability of technician error.

* Develop and maintain routings and Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are installed during the assembly/installation process.

* Author detail industrialization packages that optimize manufacturing process and opportunity for zero defects.

* Assist in creating time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.

* Create rework instructions to support effective corrective actions.

* Interact with engineering, subject matter experts, and shop floor personnel to ensure that work instructions are accurate and comprehensible.

* Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability of product design, which will improve efficiency of the shop and fabrication of parts, assemblies and installations during the appropriate design phase, resulting from established methods and performance analysis.

* Incorporate Lean Manufacturing Methodology into existing and future processes.

* Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.

* Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures to identify opportunities for improvements.

* Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services.

* Optimize the process for both detail and assembly level manufactured parts and products, or deliver supporting services, with maximum efficiency.

* Work with internal customers and management to develop standards for design and production.

* Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of operations (existing and proposed).

* Ensure deliverable quality standards are met.
