Required Certifications ARRT, BLS Shift Notes 4x10 (1130a-10p) Sun-Wed on week one and 3x12 hr (930a-10p) Sun-Tue on week two.
Unit Notes Must have OR experience Must have OR experience Department: Radiology - General X-Ray General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS Certs/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements ARRT How many scanners/rooms does this department have? 2 fixed ED, 1 fixed department, 5 portable(all Carestream) 1 fluoro, 1 C-arm for video swallow, 5 surg c-arms (all OEC), cysto fluoro table, hybrid OR vascular unit (siemens) Will they have to float/cover any other areas? ED/Inpatient (all xray only) Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties Either ED/trauma OR OR/Inpatient. Non-OR Fluoroscopic exams based on experience and comfort with performing other studies Experience or 'Must have' skills
Experience with portable exams. Average # of scans/studies per day 100-150 plain film; 10-15 OR cases EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use BAR (Allscripts based system); Scimage PICOM (PACS) Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens) Carestream for fixed units and portables; Siemens fluoroscopy; GE OEC c-arms Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech Supervisor Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? No Radiologist in-house? In house M-F 8-430. Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) no Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Block scheduling with some flexibility; only time hospital has 1 xray tech is from 1130p-630a Weekend Requirements Varies but most positions have fixed block schedules; most OR tech needs require 1-3 on call weekends during contract Holiday Requirements Varies based on contract. Expectation is that travelers help cover holidays. Call or Standby requirement? Response time? On Call/Standby required for OR tech (weekday). On call is self-scheduled cooperatively by day techs. Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? light grey; scrubs not provided. Surgical scrubs okay for all staff covering OR Department specific orientation Orientation usually on scheduled shifts. Additional Notes They have many Rad students through the department. Travelers will be expected to precept students.
