Job Overview:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will provide essential security engineering support across various project teams and collaborate effectively across the program. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities including developing cybersecurity solutions (for networks, operating systems, and applications), environment assessment, cybersecurity documentation, service delivery, migration, operations planning, and preparing presentations for both internal and client-facing meetings. We seek a highly motivated individual with a robust IT security background exceptional at integrating, operating, and deploying security technologies while engaging positively with both internal teams and clients.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: An active SECRET clearance is required before starting at Leidos. (U.S. Citizenship required)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and document cybersecurity solutions and their implementation in client environments to facilitate service delivery and migration planning.
  • Evaluate information assurance/security standards in client settings.
  • Support Authorizing Official (AO) actions by collecting and assessing documentation in line with RMF as per NIST 800-37 revision 2 and specific agency requirements.
  • Record cybersecurity solutions, processes, and operational maintenance procedures.
  • Review and evaluate the integration of security tools including Asset Management, Identity and Access Control Systems, Compliance Monitoring, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-On solutions according to applicable policies.
  • Assess security architectures and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct gap analyses and leverage analytical techniques to inform recommendations on operations, maintenance, service delivery, and migration feasibility of existing security systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience in place of a degree.
  • CISSP certification is required.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on experience in security solution design and implementation, including relevant documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to deconstruct complex issues into manageable tasks.
  • Extensive experience designing and deploying enterprise security tools and architectures, with proficiency in creating diagrams and documentation for IT systems, including network topology.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in secure enterprise architecture engineering across various cybersecurity tools and technologies such as Firewall/VPN, Identity Access Management, SIEM, EDR, and others.
  • Experience in selecting effective methods and techniques to achieve security objectives.
  • Experience drafting solution designs, implementation plans, and migration plans.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards like FISMA and NIST SP 800-37.
  • Proficient in reviewing and creating detailed technical documentation and architectures for the federal IT landscape.
  • Ability to drive technical projects to completion while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Robust background in Systems and Network Security Engineering.
  • Experience in developing vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, network security, and SIEM/SOAR solutions in federal or large commercial contexts.
  • Exemplary technical project leadership skills.
  • Additional certifications indicating advanced cybersecurity knowledge and skills.

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

The compensation range for this role serves as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed salary. Various factors—including job responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity—will influence the compensation offer.
