Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Part-Time)
Location: White Settlement, TX
Position Type: Part-Time (10 hours per week)
Duration: Immediate Start May 23, 2025
Pay: Starting at $40/hour for fully qualified candidates

About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in White Settlement, TX. This part-time position is an excellent opportunity for a professional passionate about supporting young learners in grades PreK through 2nd grade. You will play a vital role in helping students develop communication, language, and academic skills while collaborating with families and school staff to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of each student in the caseload.
  • Direct and Indirect Services: Provide both direct instruction and consultation services to support student learning and communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure that each students educational goals are met.
  • Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct assessments to determine students needs and track progress toward achieving their IEP goals.
  • Specialized Techniques: Utilize specialized teaching strategies, technology, and resources designed for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Advocacy and Education: Serve as an advocate for students, promoting awareness and understanding of their needs within the school community.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with students in early education settings, particularly in PreK through 2nd grade.
  • Knowledge of hearing assistive technology and communication strategies, such as American Sign Language (ASL), cued speech, or oral/aural methods (preferred).
  • Strong ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Compensation

  • Pay starts at $40 per hour for candidates fully qualified as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
