Position Summary
The Interactive Designer is responsible for designing and developing engaging, learner-centered digital experiences that enhance educational outcomes. This role requires a blend of creativity, instructional design expertise, and technical proficiency to create interactive content that supports diverse learning styles. The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and multimedia teams to produce high-quality, interactive learning modules, games, simulations, and other educational resources.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop engaging, multimedia-rich learning materials including e-learning modules, simulations, serious games, and assessments tailored to the needs of diverse learners.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and technical teams to ensure that content is accurate, pedagogically sound, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Create detailed storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to illustrate the flow and interactivity of learning modules.
- Create concepts, graphics, and layouts that reflect a strong understanding of website and app design best practices.
- Visually communicate ideas and conceptualize design materials based on client needs and industry standards.
- Build and edit interactive learning materials using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar e-learning software.
- Implement learner feedback, usability testing, and data analytics to continually improve the learning experience.
- Stay current with the latest trends in educational technology, gamification, microlearning, and interactive content design.
- Interact with client representatives to navigate the complex learning needs of the project.
- All other duties assigned.
Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Multimedia Design or a related field
- Will consider 4+ years work experience in lieu of degree
Experience
- 1+ years of experience designing interactive digital learning content.
- Experience with multimedia production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia).
- Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Experience with virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) or 360 learning applications.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.).
- Knowledge of instructional design models and learning theories.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles.
- Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong creative skills and sense of visual design or branding
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- A passion for education and the empowerment of others through knowledge.
- Ability to travel to different locations as required.
