POSITION OVERVIEW
:
Responsible for maintaining our framework of policies, procedures and outreach programs necessary to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information throughout the company-while continuing to grow and improve NYCEDC's Information Security Program, also develops and implements plans and policies for maintaining NYCEDC's compliance with applicable regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and enhance information security and data integrity programs: develop and implement security standards, processes/procedures, and guidelines. Oversee the distribution of policies, standards and procedures to the company. Periodically assess data handling to ensure compliance with relevant standards, rules, and regulations. Coordinate and directly participate in responding to information security incidents, including data exposures, phishing, data breaches, and attacks; maintain a quality, up-to-date incident response plan to guide action in such incidents; document incident response, coordinating as appropriate with internal and external partners. Review maintenance contracts for information security related hardware and software and make recommendations for changes as appropriate. Assist in managing all firewalls, data encryption, security solutions. Cross train peers to support IT Risk management responsibilities as assigned, act as a mentor for colleagues with less experience. Create, test and implement network disaster recovery plans. Manage and complete projects as assigned. Perform risk assessments and testing of data processing systems. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in information technology systems and information security. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and industry risk models. At least 4 years of experience with the following technologies or practices: Relevant audit, information risk, security, or compliance Checkpoint network security gateway Forcepoint web security solutions Vulnerability testing and information security assessment Security event monitoring solutions (SIEM) Microsoft cloud security solutions Network routing protocols Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills. Experience drafting and administering information security policies and procedures. Ability to interface with internal and external organizations regarding risk and compliance findings. New York City residency required within 180 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a security engineering or architecture role. CISSP or related certification (preferred, but not required). Experience managing small teams or mentoring colleagues is a plus. Subject matter expertise in multiple IT or security disciplines, including authentication models, data protection, networking, firewalls, and vulnerability management. Salary Range
$120,000-$125,000 USD
