The Warehouse Team Lead contributes to meeting Langham goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by ensuring that all associates unload and load shipments from and to the client coming in and out of the warehouse without damage; accurately checked, recorded, and entered into the database; and put away into the correct location. The Team Lead is a direct link between the Associates and the Supervisor, distributing daily work orders, ensuring orders are correctly completed and recorded, and ensuring that shipments get out according to schedule.


The Team Lead ensures productivity and quality goals are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; maximizing productivity and efficiency through the use of RF guns and cross training. This position will assist/lead training new hires withing the department and cross train veteran associates in other functions; and is charged with planning for adequate manpower to meet daily schedules and appropriately matching associate skills with duties of the job.

The Team Lead delegates investigation of problems, such as receiving and put away errors and shipment errors to associates. The Lead also ensures that all work is done according to safety and security guidelines, with particular attention to guidelines regarding hazardous materials and those mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.


Key Outcomes Expected

  • Communicate with the customer to take care of inaccuracies in shipments.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by entering material into data base, ideally, via the use of an RF gun.
  • Use mobile computer station for daily warehouse activities
  • Put inventory away in correct location without damaging product or equipment.
  • Provides direct assistance to the Supervisor by helping assign workloads and expedite workflow; provide input for process improvement
  • Ensure quality checks are made at the appropriate stages of inbound and put away
  • Effectively perform basic lead responsibilities of coaching, training, performance.
  • Ensure a team environment in the warehouse; cross train all employees in the department; monitor associate productivity and make adjustments as needed
  • Identify and plan for appropriate manpower needs on a daily basis and get approval from the Supervisor to issue overtime requirements as needed.
  • Prepare daily work schedules and issue written and oral instructions, ensuring that orders (pick tickets) are distributed in a timely manner based on associate skills
  • Maximize efficiency through the use of RF guns in all areas (where appropriate)
  • Ensure hand-picked orders are correctly picked and packed and ready for shipment (generally UPS or Fed Ex)

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one-year previous experience in a comparable position.
  • Forklift drivers must be able to pass forklift certification training.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Drivers must be able to operate a variety of equipment: stand up forklift, sit down forklift, order picker and turret.
  • Physical movements including bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds as part of daily work routine.
  • Must be able to operate computer equipment.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment subject to temperature variances.
