Job Summary:
The objectives of this position are to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and activities to recruit prospective students for admission to the college; identify target markets and support implementation of Marketing/Recruitment plan; assist students through the application/admission process; extensive travel within the VSCC services area is required; and must have excellent written and oral communication skills and good computer skills.
Job Duties:
Recruit prospective students by making high school visits, attending day/night college fairs, career days, and community events where a college recruitment presence is appropriate. Assist prospective students, both in person, and at a distance, in the decision-making, application, and enrollment process. Staff special recruiting activities, including but not limited to, events and communication targeted at prospective TN Promise applicants. Enter and maintain data related to prospective students in the customer relationship management (CRM) software. Cultivate relations with high school personnel and school counselors in the Volunteer State Community College service area. Assist with implementation of special activities for school counselors. Assist with the facilitation of the Pioneer Leader Scholarship program. Analyze recruitment data to guide and enhance recruitment strategies for assigned territory. Respond to inquiries from prospective students using, but not limited to, telephone, email, and social media/online chat. Assist with special events and activities to bring prospective students and other constituent groups to the campus. Assist with the implementation of on campus recruiting events. Develop, implement and/or enhance recruitment initiatives within assigned territory that align with enrollment goals. Foster and cultivate positive interaction with other departments and academic divisions across campus. Work in collaboration and cooperation with all departments, all campuses, and academic divisions. Represent, in a positive manner, Volunteer State Community College, the Division of Student Services, and the Office of Admissions with all internal and external constituents. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in student recruitment, especially at a community college.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to react to change productively.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have good computer skills.
Extensive travel within the Volunteer State Community College service area is required.
Pay Rate: $43,888 - $49,122 annual salary depending on experience
